Photographic Print. Great white Heron with Bluebells watching over my garden pond.
I think he is a great white Heron or Egret. A replica of a Heron is used as a deterrant against other birds eating fish in a garden pond. The bird symbolises the unity and flow between land and water and patience. In Greek mythology, the Heron is God’s messenger and was one of Athena's messengers in Greek stories. It represents honour and virtue and it was wrong to harm one as it brought bad luck. In Greek Art, the Heron played a role in the struggle between good and evil.
Even though the greenery is only Brambles, it creates a beautiful backdrop of light green as the sun comes through it from behind.
Colours are as accurate as possible but may differ slightly due to screen calibrations.
