This is one of a series of still life photographs inspired by lush and exotic
landscapes and objects, Hawaii, altars and floristry. A 1960's retro beautiful black woman's face
vase, with red lips, gold turban, adorned with blue violet Gladioli, a lilac Dahlia, purple Buddleia and fallen flowers against lush green foliage and dappled light. She looks serene and regal like an exotic princess. I did not alter the colour of these flowers on the photograph from
bluish purple to this incredible blue Gladioli, it must have been the
light.
