Photographic Print. Gardener's abandoned workbench in my greenhouse surrounded by green hazy light.
The workbench as I opened the greenhouse which had been abandoned for many years, the garden untouched since Beryl's husband died I am told. The ribbons Ernie XXX and Dad are from floral tributes for him. I think he was a keen gardener and the remnants of the garden, including a rockery descending into a pond, are well designed. Covered in a deep bank of Brambles, un-earthing them was like undertaking an excavation. I like the way it is unclear whether the greenery is on the inside or outside the glass and creates a harmonious hazy green lit space. The pole on the right makes me think of an African tribal staff or cane. The haziness on the right is sunlight falling on dust on cobwebs.
Colours are as accurate as possible but may differ slightly due to screen calibrations.
