Photographic Print. My dad's floristry boxes of precious flowers for wreath making.
It was a ritual on Christmas Eve day for my dad to bring down these boxes from the rafters to choose focal point flowers for his 'specials' orders. The other wreaths and crosses were designed by him and the production line of 7 or 8 people made them well, my mum checked how many per hour, my dad checked quality control but on this day his artistic skills were allowed to flourish. When I photographed them I was intrigued with the idea of precious things, it struck me as ironic that they were coffin shaped boxes covered in dust and cobwebs, opening them up revealed old flowers placed carefully in tissue and newspaper.
