Photographic Print. 1960s canopy blind and pillars above a cafe on the Promenade in Morecambe.
Some rather grand pillars edging a terrace above a cafe which looked more out of a scene in Mediterranean French or Italian Riveria than on Morecambe Promenade. As I took the photograph the new owner arrived, I said how much I admired them and she said she intended to keep them as she renovated the property and I have seen them there recently. I imagine it originally looked impressive with the striking black and white canopy blind. The crumbling texture of the paint adds to the faded grandeur.
