Photographic Print. Mexican César E. Chávez Festival Parade Horses on 24th Street. Mission. San Francisco.
At the Festival Parade the Mexican riders managed to stay on as these two horses had a scare which I happened to see on 24th Street. It wasn't a huge procession but full of magnificent gleaming horses and soulful faces. it was the César Chávez Holiday Festival Parade which celebrates and pays tribute to the life and work of labour leader César E. Chávez. This family festival is a community collaboration that provides food from Calle 24 merchants, children's activities, arts and crafts, a classic car show, floats and music. The Festival happens annually on the second weekend of April.
